[ He pointedly ignores her in favour of just trying to get himself free. Although the belts are giving a little, it's not nearly enough, and he can't slip out of them, either. And he can't use his blastia when he's restrained like this... There's no way for him to aim at the belts without hurting himself.
Though the saying is "nothing ventured, nothing earned", isn't it? If he can make up artes, he should be able to get out. ]
