Just so you know, I don't plan on killing you to take the rune for myself. You can keep that parasite. But I will find a method to control it.

[With that, she sneers, and strides away--out of the room, leaving him alone and tied up.]

[Kya~ :3]

[ His glare intensifies - not because he particularly likes his runes, but because she's just being so rude. Although he opens his mouth to snap back, he just as soon closes it when he sees her walk away. This is his chance to get out. ]

[ ////~ ]

[She never looks back at him before she shuts the door. And though she doesn't plan on being gone for very long, it might be long enough.]

[ Hopefully it will be. He doesn't want to risk her coming in to him undoing his restraints, so instead, he starts casting a spell to light a fire in front of the door. Whatever materials they lose, they can recreate later. ]

[She's grabbing a drink and a snack, among a few other things, so she'll return shortly--though maybe not before the smell of smoke gets her attention.]

[ There's plenty to burn in the room, thankfully. He doesn't set fire to the door itself, focusing on making a barrier of fire around it instead. And honestly, that's not half as scary to Tyr as Rita is right now.

Although he currently has no idea how to get the belts off aside from yanking at them until they come loose. If they do. ]

[There's a slim possibility with the way they're wound around the arms of the chair, but it would probably take a lot of time. As it is, Rita simply finds herself observing that it's pretty late before she thinks she smells something. Smoke.

No. She drops everything she's doing and practically flies up the stairs, throwing the door open-]

What the hell is this? My research-!

[ When she says my research, he almost wonders if this is his Rita--but she'd be more concerned about a person than their projects. After a moment's hesitation, he flings a spell at her: ]

Silent Lake!

[ And a mist settles over the door frame and takes Rita's magic. It should buy him a few extra minutes so he can keep working at the belts. ]

You-!

[The rage and hate in her voice would be answer enough, anyway, as she realizes he set the fire himself. She immediately takes a stance to cast a spell and take away the flames-

But she can't cast. There's nothing, no formula, no aer...]

What do you think you're doing?!

[ He pointedly ignores her in favour of just trying to get himself free. Although the belts are giving a little, it's not nearly enough, and he can't slip out of them, either. And he can't use his blastia when he's restrained like this... There's no way for him to aim at the belts without hurting himself.

Though the saying is "nothing ventured, nothing earned", isn't it? If he can make up artes, he should be able to get out. ]

[He can try attacking the belts--they'd probably give if he did that. As she is right now, Rita doesn't think he's capable of doing it without causing himself serious injury, but then she doesn't think much of him at all.

Her expression is seething as she observes the fire, and then she promptly turns around, disappearing into the hallway.]

[ And she'll probably try to put them out like a normal person, meaning he doesn't have that much time. He goes for it and tries focusing the mana like he would when he uses his staff and just yanks.

...Which surprisingly actually works and causes the belt to snap between his arm and the chair. He doesn't have time to be in wonder, though, and quickly undoes the belt around his neck, then his right hand and legs. Finally. ]

[What she has in mind is probably a lot more reckless. Rita comes barrelling through the door again, wrapped in a new heavy cloak, and leaps through the flames. As soon as she lands, she tosses off the singed cloak in one smooth movement and grabs for her whip.]

You're a fool!

[ He practically trips over a pile of books when she comes charging through. ]

You're insane!!

[ He doesn't have a weapon of his own here, so he simply grabs a tome to fling at her...chest. She still has Rita's face. ]

[She might even look it, too, what with the burning, murderous expression on her face as she advances--smashing the book aside with her blastia arm.]

I'm going to rip out your tongue-!

I...

[ He's sure she means it, too. His heart leaps in his throat when he watches her destroy that book so easily, and with how angry she is now... He keeps backing away as quickly as he can, not taking his eyes off her.

But that arm. He wonders... He starts casting a spell. ]

[She is determined to do it, to make sure he won't ever cast again. And she'll take him down with force if her magic doesn't return.

As she draws closer, she lashes out with her whip.]

[ Her magic will return, but only after about a quarter hour has passed. But Tyr thinks she's perfectly capable of taking him down with just that whip. He stumbles backwards some more, barely catching himself on a table as he backs up further and further.

But he can't make himself go through with the plan. Even if he could use her blastia arm against her, the thought of how he burned Rita in that dream so long ago haunts him - and just like then, what if this is really Rita, deep down?

His stomach is in knots. She needs to stop attacking him so he can use the sleep spell. ]

[She's positive she can take him down, too. Rita Mordio is confident in all her abilities before anything else.

Seeing him back away spurs her on, like a hunter taking advantage of weakness, and she springs at him with a shout-]

Weak-!

[ He doesn't want to kill his friends anymore, he doesn't want to kill his friends anymore... But when he sees her lunging at him, he automatically kicks out at her, aiming for her stomach. He doesn't care if he's weak or anything else Rita thinks of him. He just doesn't want to die, either. ]

[She gasps and staggers for a moment, the wind knocked out of her, though it serves to make her even angrier.]

You-!

[ His eyes widen in concern, but...no, he can't be uncertain ]

I told you weren't going to win-!

[ He takes a stance to begin casting the sleep spell. ]

[She scowls and cracks the whip at him again to try and interrupt the spell.]

You think you can beat Rita Mordio?!

[ He jumps back and manages to avoid her attack while keeping the spell going. He can definitely defeat Rita- ]

Sleepy Wind!

No--I'm gonna-

[Dammit, she can't lose! That's all she can think, stubbornly trying to keep herself awake even as she succumbs to the inevitable and falls to the floor.]
