[She scoffs and finished making notes in a notebook, before tapping her chin. Before fiddling around with the other blastia, she needs to connect the rune to another one.]
Hmm...A formula might not do it without proper analysis... Maybe direct contact.
[ He doesn't say anything in response to that and just keeps watching suspiciously. He doesn't like the sound of "direct contact". Is she going to make him use the rune...on someone? ]
[That just might be part of her plan later. For now, she starts rummaging through the mess of materials and tinkering for a little while, collecting tools and putting together some parts.
Eventually, she's assembled a small blastia core with several attached components and instruments, and she sets it on a table near Tyr. There's a couple thin wires hanging from the assembly, the ends sharp and needle-like, and she lifts one now and turns to Tyr.]
Direct contact to start... Let's see how it responds.
[ He doesn't like how this looks. He means her eyes as strongly as he can, but there's no mistaking that he's scared now. Direct contact to his wound with those wires... He's sure that's what she means. He's gone through worst before. He just needs to remember it. ]
[Her voice continues to drip with contempt for him when she responds, and now she brings the wire to his hand--tugging off his glove, if he's wearing it--and moves to insert it just under the skin, at the edge of the rune.]
[It's pointless to tell himself not to shake when she's taking that glove and putting the needle to his skin. He tries to regulate his breathing so he doesn't put himself in a worse position. It's just a needle; she's not ripping his skin off with it--though he wouldn't put it past her to try it. She doesn't even see him as human.]
[He doesn't get his hopes up hoping that this'll be as bad as it gets.]
Yeah... I get it now.
[As much as he wants to berate her, her knows it'll only get him hurt. He watches her work on the blastia, though. If he knows what's coming, he can prepare.]
[She doesn't respond further, all her attention on the blastia. The core comes to life with a deep violet glow, and Rita stands there, impassive, observing for what could be a few minutes.]
...No feedback just like this, huh...
[Abruptly, she turns back to Tyr and lifts a second wire to place under his skin.]
[ He's hopeful, foolishly, when she stops to observe for those few minutes. He doesn't even have time to think before she inserts that second wire. ]
Ngh-
[ His fingers dig into the arm of the chair as the wire goes in. It feels so unnatural... It's not as painful as what she did earlier, but seeing the wires under his skin...it's sickening in another way. ]
[Rita has no interest in telling him to relax or otherwise trying to make it easier for him. His comfort is of no consequence. However, she does look over at his face and frown.]
Don't tell me you're going to be sick.
[Cleaning up a mess or having it reek in here is more of a concern to her.]
[ Even saying that, though, he worries about what she could do to him. He's sure the rune is safe so long as his life is in tact, but he likes living, too. ]
[As if she can't even fathom that their positions could be reversed.
With the second wire secured, she returns to the blastia, inputting some different commands--and without warning, a small electrical jolt travels down one of the wires and into his hand.]
[ But before he can finish questioning her, his body shakes violently and suddenly from that jolt--as much as it can with his neck and limbs tied down. His fingers still tingle afterwards, but at least it doesn't last, he tells himself. ]
[ He bites down hard on his lip to muffles his cries, and he wishes he could keep his fingers from twitching from the shock. She isn't pleased or upset, but he still doesn't want to give her the satisfaction of seeing him in pain.
The duration this time feels so, so much longer, longer than it already is. At least in a battle he can defend himself. If she weren't inside him, he might even be able to throw up a shield... ]
[She doesn't show any reaction, any emotion to him at all--her eyes stay fixed to the readings on the blastia, which so far are giving her little result, and so she doesn't give him more than a moment's rest before she amplifies it again.]
[ No- He can barely feel the pain in his lips over the shock running though him. He squeezes his eyes shut tightly, not even thinking of Rita and how he looks to her. Whatever she wants to happen, he wishes she'd tell him so he could make it happen, but he doesn't want to open his mouth. ]
[It lasts longer, again, and Rita makes a quiet sigh as it finishes. She's still not getting any significant readouts, and she needs to be able to stimulate the rune herself without requiring Tyr to control it.]
Still nothing...
[She glances back at him, expression still cold, as she states matter-of-factly-]
Anything more could be harmful, and I'm not about to risk losing that rune.
[ The painful tingling running through him still is enough to make him ignore her words. He doesn't want to open his eyes, but he doesn't want her to think he's passed out, either. He opens his eyes slightly and releases his reddened lip, but pointedly looks down at his knees. ]
[ He might be able to heal himself if she gives him a break. Enough to stop the pain, at least.. Although he hears her turn back, his head remains bowed. ]

[ Though he's unsure if he wants to know what she'll do... ]

[She snorts, and carefully sets the needle in place, securing it with a bit of tape.]
We'll start with one for now.
[Possibly more if necessary. Now she walks back to the blastia, making some adjustments to the formula.]

Hmm...That'll do for a baseline, I think.
[She spares him a brief glance to see if he's still conscious, then activates it again--a little stronger, and longer-lasting.]

Do you know anything about it...?

[Although she takes a brief glance at him, her back otherwise remains to him. He's conscious and he's not being sick, so she can continue.]
I'll have to try a different approach now...
no subject
It's too powerful to just be controlled... It's a True Rune...
[ That might not really explain it, but he doesn't care right now. ]
no subject
She turns back to him with a snort.]
And I'm Rita Mordio. I live and breathe magic.
no subject
This isn't your world's magic...
[ And she doesn't deserve to call herself that. ]
[ moémoé Rita... ]
