[She spares him no mercy as she follows and brings a booted foot down on his chest to make sure he stays down.]

Hmph. You just had to be a stubborn idiot, didn't you?

[ He falls backwards with a gasp. His hand automatically wraps around her ankle to shove her away so he can...get away somehow. ]

What's wrong with you?

[She hisses, managing to stay balanced on her other foot as she yanks her ankle roughly away--then promptly relatiates with a kick aimed at his ribs.]

I'm just not waiting around for you to cooperate!

[ He cries out pathetically - more pathetically than he thinks he is - and rolls over onto his side as he clutches his ribs. He's sensitive there, especially when he hasn't fought hard in so long. ]

You're not going to get it if you don't stop...

Pathetic.

[She spits it out in contempt, and stands by to watch him for a moment. She's highly skeptical that he'd willingly cooperate, so she ought to just threaten him all the way.]

More like I'll stop only if you cooperate. Let's be clear about who's on top here!

[ That...really annoys him. He blinks his eyes clear again, and he knows he should just take her down, but he hesitates. ]

Shut up...

[ He reminds himself that she's not really Rita as turns over and tries to trip her up by grabbing her leg out from under her. ]

You-

[She hisses angrily as he throws her off balance and she stumbles to one knee. He is not going to make a fool out of her! She grabs at his hand with her blastia arm again.]

You're an idiot!

[ He tries to yank his arm away, but it's too late, and it hurts when he tries to free himself. ]

You don't know who you're against!

[ She's not Rita; she's not even completely human. She's not even cursed - it's just not her. He has to remind himself of that or he won't be able to stand hurting her.

Nevertheless, the swing he takes at her isn't nearly as powerful as it could be. ]

[She half-catches the swing with her other arm, though her blastia arm is much stronger--and it grips his hand unnaturally tight. The hit still stings, and she glowers at him, snapping-]

I do: you're a nobody!

[Except for that rune. That's the only reason she isn't killing him outright, because she might just need him alive.]

[ It's easy to think of her as someone else when she's like that, but that doesn't change the fact he worries that her hand could simply crush his like a tomato. Rita makes the best blastia—

But that's not the point. ]

You're not that great, either!

[ With her hands both occupied, her goes to kick her away. ]

Shut up!

[If she has anything else to say, it's cut off by a groan as she falls back from the kick, letting go of his hands. Dammit--she might be with the knights, but her specialty is magic, not wrestling like some savage animal.]

[ Fighting for his life is something Tyr thankfully hasn't forgotten. Once she lets go of him, he scrambles backwards and to his feet. She still sounds like Rita... And he doesn't intend to kill her, but he needs to cast that sleep spell fast. ]

[She might not be as accustomed to it, but she isn't weak, either. She grunts, but she shoves herself off the sand and to her own feet, reaching for her whip.]

I've just about had enough of you.

[ He...doesn't really have a choice. He takes defensive stance with his bare hands and starts to cast the sleeping spell to shoot at her. ]

[The spell is new to her, but it takes her mere seconds to figure out the formula as he casts.]

Idiot!

[She lunges forward and lashes out at him with the whip.]

[ His eyes go wide as she lunges at him, and even though he knows how much her whip hurts, it's still hard to avoid it even as he jumps back. ]

Agh-! Please...

You thought you were so tough, but look at you now. Begging.

[She sneers and pulls her hand back as though to whip him again, and keeps it there, ready to attack.]

Good to see you still have a big head...

[ Even with her blow still stinging, he still has it in him to glare at her defiantly. He doesn't know if this is an unfair fight or if he is just weaker than her. When she doesn't move, though, he figures she means for him to move - which is probably the smarter choice on her part, but means he has to make this count.

Since magic is the only thing he has been working on, he casts and prepares himself to run away from the beach house. ]

Flaming arrows-

[She has enough time to bring up her hand to protect her face, the magic shield she calls up being a little too late to block the fire from searing her side.]

Is that it?!

[There's a cold anger in her voice in response to the pain, and she begins casting her own spell, even as her cloak is still smoldering.]

Spiral Flare!

[It sends a larger burst of flame in his direction.]

[ Much larger than something he could cast in the same amount of time. He yelps as he dives to the ground in hopes of avoiding the brunt of the spell as it burns his back and hair. He really wishes he had some backup... Someone to hold her down long enough for him to cast the sleep spell. There's not even time to cast Silent Lake. ]

Ugh...

[ She might be keeping her cloak on, but he pulls off his shirt to keep it from burning his skin. ]

[She strides forward quickly, unhooking her cloak at the same time--the simple temperate system inside kept the flames in check briefly, but it's broken now, and she's in no mood to be burned by her own clothing.]

Stay put this time if you don't want more!

[ While he doesn't trust her, he's sure that if she was going to kill him, she wouldn't care about his cooperation. He stands still and looks at her, trying to look stronger and taller. ]

Fine. Come on already.

[She still holds the whip in one hand as she stares him down, then points in the direction of the house.]

Now walk. And if you try anything funny, don't think I care about paralyzing you.

[ He doesn't doubt that she'd permanently paralyse him, either. He forces his legs to move him forward, still wary of her and having her behind him. ]

What exactly do you want anyway?

[She follows at the same pace, keeping a sharp eye on him as she snorts.]

Hmph! I want you to follow my orders for now. The rest, you'll see.
